Aftab Ahmed Khan passed away on 29 September 2024 at the age of 68. He was born in Pakistan, where he grew up in Karachi and graduated from Karachi University with a degree in History. He worked at Pakistan International Airline before emigrating to the United States. There he worked as a food court manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). During his time with AAFES, he worked throughout the U.S. and for many years in Germany, at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Ramstein Air Force Base, and the USAG Bavaria. He deployed to Afghanistan and received accommodations for his civilian service. He retired from AAFES after 24 years. He mentored many trainees. They remember him fondly. He is remembered most for his patience and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Natalie, two children Jasmine and Aaron, two grandchildren, and his ten siblings.
The family would like to thank Landstuhl Regional Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at North Austin Muslim Community Center on Friday, 18 October 2024 at 8:30 am, the burial at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery & Prayer Gardens to follow, or the Celebration of Life at the Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home at 11:00 am.
