Loving husband of Joanna, loving father to his three sons Brandon, Ethan and Scott, son of James and Theresa (d. 2014), brother of Cheryl Courtney, brother-in-law of Michael and sister-in-law Lorna Sudu, and brother-in-law Chris Sudu. Loving uncle to nieces Kristin (Eric) and Emma, and nephews Connor, Ashton and Caleb.
Lee was born in Brampton, Ontario and from an early age it was evident he was a gifted child whether it was academics, music or chess.
After graduating from high school with 100% in all maths, physics and science courses, he was accepted in the reputable University of Toronto Engineering Science Program from where he graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1995.
He met the love of his life Joanna at university in 1994 and although she was only completing an “acceptable” degree in Science, they married in 1998 and built a life over the span of 25 years of marriage.
Lee was extremely proud of his professional accomplishments during his 26 year career. He began at Alcatel which later became Thales Canada Rail Division. Lee continued his professional development by acquiring his Professional Engineering designation in the provinces of Ontario and Alberta.
Lee will be remembered for his brilliant sense of humour, wit, candidness, gentle nature, and above all, the love and dedication to his family.
The family extends their thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Hospital and the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket.
A “Celebration of Life” will take place at Thompson’s Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Pkwy S. Aurora on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m.
We welcome everyone to join us to celebrate Lee’s life.
