After a lengthy illness, John passed peacefully, with his family at his side.
John is survived by his beloved wife Linda, and their two children, Niana (David) and Ryan (Megan). He also leaves his children, Randy, Sandy, Stephen, and Bill (predeceased), from his first marriage. He will be lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren.
John was born in Edinburgh and immigrated to Canada in 1950, making Aurora his home. Trained as a goldsmith, he proudly owned McNally’s Aurora Inc. with his love, Linda, for 32 years. John was a regular on the tennis courts at Timberlane. He will be remembered fondly for his love of life and travel, his unfailingly positive spirit, and his devotion to family and friends.
A funeral will be held at Aurora United Church (hosted at Trinity Anglican Church-79 Victoria St. Aurora L4G 1R3) on Friday April 10, 2015, 2 p.m. with visitation on April 9, 2015, 2-4 p.m. also at Trinity Anglican. It would be appreciated that memorial donations be made to the Aurora United Church Future Fund or the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation Hospice.
