Elizabeth "Betty" Snooks (McGill) Walsh

On August 29th, 2022 Elizabeth Snooks Walsh (nee McGill) passed away peacefully in her sleep. Daughter of Mary (McGuire) and Duncan McGill, Elizabeth was the last of her siblings and adored as the matriarch of her family both here in Canada, as well as in Scotland. Born on January 29th, 1931 in Uddingston, Scotland, Elizabeth immigrated to Canada by herself at 16 years old. She built a life and raised her children, Linda Millar, Heather McKechnie and Donald Snooks in Toronto before enjoying her later years in Aurora, ON. Elizabeth was a strong and hardworking woman who never backed down to a challenge.

Predeceased by her loving husband, Matthew Walsh in April 2020, daughter Linda (Bruce) in March 2013 and son Donnie in May 2015. She will be missed by her remaining daughter, Heather and husband Jem McKechnie, as well as her grandchildren, Sean and Sheil Millar and Arwen and Carley McKechnie (Shawn Bowins) and great grandson Stephen Bowins.

A funeral service will be held at at Highland Memory Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, North York on Saturday, September 10th, 2022 at 3 pm. Loved ones are invited to attend, however the service will be webcasted for those who are unable to.
