David Gluck

Passed away peacefully in his 100th year on August 23rd, 2017 in Richmond Hill. David was born in Welland, Ontario on December 17, 1917. Son of the late Stefan and Mary Gluch. Predeceased by his five younger brothers, William, Jacob, John, Joseph and Marion. Beloved husband of 74 ½ year to the late Katherine Gluck. Loving father to son Terry, daughter Judy and her husband Andy Zrnec. Dear grandfather to Kevin Simpson, Sierra and Jessie Zrnec. David was a long-time resident of Leaside (Toronto) Ontario. He spent over 60 summers at the family cottage he built on Midland Point, Georgian Bay. David’s long and enjoyable professional career as a Mechanical Engineer included working at the Canada Post Office, Gateway Facility, Engineering Dept., Dilworth, Secord and Meigher, Senior Engineer in Advanced Technology Division; Ferranti-Packard Limited, Electronic Division Research and Development Engineer – Project Engineer. David held several mechanical patents. Upon retirement David became a ham radio operator (call sign VE3MLC) and was a member of the Senators Ham Radio Club, Scarborough, Ontario. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Ridges Retirement Community for their kindness and loving attention. A private interment of David and Katherine will be held on Thursday, August 31st at Lakeview Cemetery, Midland, Ontario.
