Ronald Charles Wilcox, known to many as Ron, passed away on October 29, 2021 in Aurora, Colorado. He was 65 years old. Ron was born in Denver to Winston and Gwen Wilcox. He grew up in the Denver and Aurora areas. He graduated from Aurora Central High School. In 1979 he met his wife, Barbara. They started out as friends, and then decided to dedicate their lives to one another in 1984.
Ron had a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Mass Communications from the University of Denver. During his time at DU he was a graduate teaching assistant in the Mass Communications department, and upon his graduation he began his career as an audio visual specialist. He started working for the Federal Government, then going on to the University of Denver, and later working at The Denver Art Museum.
Ron was clever, creative and inventive. He was known for his sense of humor, his intelligence, being stubborn on occasion, being generous always, and helpful whenever anyone needed his help, especially is they needed audio visual help. He had a love of movies, dogs, and a fond appreciation of mother nature.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Gwen. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; as well as many extended family and friends. Ron will be greatly missed.
A gathering in Ron’s honor will be held later.
