She was always a mother first to six children, Lawrence Leroy Hammond Jr., Jeffery Hammond, Charisse Jerry, Crystal Arrington, preceded in death by Roger Hammond and Leann Hammond.
All family members, a host of 3 generations of grandchildren, as well as a multitude of friends will miss her cooking, her smile, and her love.
As Khadijah made her way through life, there was very little she had not accomplished. She was the first recipient of a Bachelors Degree in English with African American understudies from The Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1977. She received a poetry award in California in 1999. Khadijah was the founder of Nudijah Productions in Denver 1975, the founder and president of Syadia Creations 1980, and the Cleo Parker Dance Company in Denver 1976 - 1982. She was a Consultant to Compton Welfare Rights Organization in California 1991 - 1997. Author of Wish Words Story Poet, and Chocolate Thief among other books.
Khadijah loved fitness and this vibrant spirit was a reflection of the support to her children she gave over the years. She loved to sew and cook. The memory and smell of her bread pudding will continue to fill and warm all her children's hearts and each generation forward.
