Kenneth Eugene Hill was born on April 13, 1951, to the parentage of Joseph and Helen (Hendrix) Hill Kenneth attended school in Charlotte Mecklenburg Independent school system. Once he completed his education, he worked varies jobs until he joined the United States Army in 1973. Kenneth retired with full military honors in 1993, after 20 years of faithful service to his country. Kenneth was baptized at Morris's Sanctuary AME in Charlotte, NC. Kenneth moved his membership to Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Rev. Clarence Moore. In October 1996, he met his wife of 24 years, and they were united on November 15th, 1997, by the Late Dr. Rev. Robert Miller, in the front of God, Family and friends. Kenneth loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He loved jazz, travel, visiting family and friends.
Those who predeceased him are, his parents, Brothers, Willie Hill and Van Y Hill; Father-in-law Earnest Henson; and sister-in-law, Natalie Henson-Mitchell. He leaves fond and loving memories to his wife, Tonja; son Donnie Logan, Charlotte, N.C.; step-daughter, Latoya Henson of Houston, Texas; Siblings, Patricia (Michael) Causer, Robert McMillen, Charles (Virginia) Hill Joe Hill all from Charlotte, N.C.; Mother-in-law, Nevada Henson; Brother-in-law's Darryl (Denise) Henson, Norman Henson all from San Antonio, Texas; Sister-in-law, Sheila (Kirkland) Ploucha from Houston, Texas; his very best friend, James and his wife Deborah Keys, of Augusta, Georgia, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11am at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
