AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jeanette S. Wasden, 75, entered into rest on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church. Jeanette was a School Teacher at Bungalow Elementary School before retiring from the Richmond County Board of Education after 31 years of service. She was known to her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcie Simmons and Runell S. Arnold, and a brother, Paul Simmons. Jeanette is survived by her husband, James Wasden; daughter, Jena (Parish) Farrow of Augusta, GA; sons, Doug (Brenda) Wasden of Hephzibah, GA and Brad (Penny) Wasden of N. Augusta, SC; brothers, Braxton Simmons of Hazelhurst, GA and Alton Simmons of Twin City, GA; 9 grandchildren, Bryan Wasden, Phillip Wasden, Kadie Wasden, Cole Wasden, Madelyn Wasden, Christian Wasden, Elisia McDonald, Jennifer Farrow, and Parish Farrow, Jr.; 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with Mr. Edgar Stark and Rev. David Stockton officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bryan Wasden, Phillip Wasden, Cole Wasden, Christian Wasden, Rusty Simmons, and Braxton Simmons, Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
