Mark was a native of Paw Paw, WV. He was an amazing and loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He loved everyone. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and activities. Mark enjoyed playing guitar and mandolin with his sister. He was kind, thoughtful and fun to be around. He retired from Carbonic Gases Airgas, Augusta, GA with 21 years of service. He received several safety awards including the one million miles Safety Driving award and was awarded a twenty year safety driver Award Jacket for this milestone. Mark was a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and read his Bible every day. His family will miss him deeply and cherish their memories shared together.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Munson and Oma Lee Munson Sparks, his brother in law Gentong Woo Hong, Sr. (Patricia, survived). Mr. Munson is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Munson; daughter, Cynthia Friday (Lee); son, Chasen Worthington (Trina); grandchildren, Lauren and Landen Friday; brothers, Andrew Munson (Rita) of South Carolina, Daniel Munson (Shari) of West Virginia, Wayne Munson (Sandra) of South Carolina, John D. Munson (Sharon) of West Virginia; sister, Martha Crumpton (Jimmy) of South Carolina; brother in law, Gene Woo Hong (Bonnie) Georgia; Joe Woo Hong, Jr.(Margaret) South Carolina and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20 from 12-1pm at Graniteville First Baptist Church 76 Canal Street, Graniteville, SC for visitation. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 1pm. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 23 at Ginevan Cemetery in Okonoko, West Virginia. Pallbearers who will honor Mr. Munson are David Sparks, Bradley Foltz, Daniel Munson Jr., Corey Byrnes, John D. Munson and Michael Parrill.
