AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Ellender Rhodes Brown, of Augusta, Georgia went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Brown thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and her church family. She was a faithful, dedicated member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and active in The Dabney Group until her health declined. Mrs. Ellender was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Lynn Brown. She is survived by her four sons, Tommy (Nancy) Brown, Johnny (Judy) Brown, Joey (Pat) Brown and Carl (Julie) Brown; five brothers, William Cecil Rhodes, Claude Edward Rhodes, Robert Lewis Rhodes, John Daniel Rhodes and George Pressley Rhodes; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11 Am, Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Gordon Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
