James Earl Thomas, 74, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale of Cardiac Arrest. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served with Young Mens, Scouting, and Home Teaching programs of the church. Mr. Thomas was a retired Polk County Traffic Light Installer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Thomas, mother, Lillian Thomas, and sister, Barbara St Cyr. He is survived by his brother, Ron Thomas, wife, Lyra Thomas, sons; James Thomas, Shannon Thomas, Levi Thomas, and Ole Thomas, daughters; Nielsine Stancombe, Shaye Tucker, and Andrea Thomas, twenty-two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, from 1-2 p.m., and a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Both will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida.
