Dewey was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. His boundless love for football, especially the Miami Dolphins, was well-known, and many weekends were spent passionately cheering on his team. As co-owner of Auto Dynamics in Winter Haven, Dewey made countless connections in his community, always leaving a positive impact.
Married to his beloved wife, Melonie, for 40 wonderful years, Dewey and Melonie shared a deep bond through their love of bowling, adventurous motorcycle rides, and joyful family vacations. Their life together was filled with love and mutual respect, and their shared experiences enriched the lives of everyone around them.
One of Dewey’s most cherished memories was walking his daughter, Krystle, down the aisle at her wedding—a moment that encapsulated the immense love and pride he had for his family. His ability to make everyone feel valued and welcome was a testament to his generous spirit and genuine heart.
Dewey is survived by his devoted wife, Melonie; his daughter, Krystle, and her husband, Daniel; and his siblings, Earl, Milton, Dolly, Sharon, Charles, and Calvin. He is also remembered fondly by numerous extended family members and friends who were fortunate to know him.
Dewey’s legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 23rd at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Following the service, friends are invited to gather at the family's home for a reception.
