Elaine E. Enwiller Cook She was an active Christian, student, wife, mother, teacher and traveler. She went peacefully to her heavenly home on March 29, 2012. Elaine was born September 19, 1924 at a farm two miles south of Rosholt, South Dakota. She graduated as valedictorian of her Rosholt Sr. High School. At age 17, she and a friend relocated to Bremerton, WA to work in the navy yard during the war. After the war she attended PLU (then PLC) where she met and married Durward Marvin Cook on September 5, 1947. Elaine and her family moved to Federal Way in 1955 where she was active in community groups such as Community Club, PTA, Advisory Council to the School Board, local government and American Association of University Women (AAUW). She was also an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Federal Way where she enjoyed worshipping, serving, and visiting with her extended family and friends. Elaine taught school in the Puyallup school district for 19 years. She retired in 1987 and traveled extensively. She enjoyed the last 7 years in an assisted living apartment at the Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Center. Elaine is survived by three children, Steven, his wife Valerie, Keith, his wife Karen, Teri, her husband Matt, eleven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Connie. Services will be held on April 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Luke's Lutheran, 515 South 312th, Federal Way, WA Family requests donations be given to St. Luke's, Operation Blessing.
