“Arnie”
Arnie passed away recently after a long illness. He grew up in Rochester, MN and graduated from St. Olaf Lutheran College. He then joined the United States Air Force and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before attending Officer Candidate School. Arnie served in communication and electronic squadrons at 12 different bases all over the country and world to include Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany and Yokota Air Force Base in Japan. He also is a veteran of the Vietnam War having served from 1968 – 1969.
While stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT, he met his wife Linda Buie. They were married for 45 years and had two children.
After 25 years and 8 months in the Air Force, Arnie retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then accepted a position with The Boeing Company as a computer analyst. He retired from Boeing after 20 years.
In his time at home, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, working in the yard, and doing genealogy research. Arnie also liked communicating with his many friends via email and having breakfast with his buddies in the Eagles Breakfast Club.
Arnie is survived by his wife Linda, a daughter and son, their spouses, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, seven sisters, and six brothers plus their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers precede him in death.
Arnie will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services and a reception will take place Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Price-Helton Funeral Home – 702 Auburn Way North, Auburn, WA 98002. Graveside services with full military honors will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery at 2:15 pm that same day (address - 18006 SE 240th St. Covington, WA 98042). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Support Our Troops Northwest, c/o – 20245 SE 192nd St., Renton, WA 98058.
