Olive L. Libby

Auburn-Olive Lee Libby 86, of Auburn passed away following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family and husband Alfred T. Libby of 64 years. She is now with her heavenly father and family. The daughter of Willis and Lela Moody she was born in Poland, Maine in 1926, and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1945. She met her husband Alfred at a dance and was married a year later in 1948. They continued their love of dancing throughout their marriage. Together they ran Libson Farms a successful Dairy Farm in Auburn. After raising her family she became active in the Maine Farm Bureau for Women, holding several county positions, and becoming President of the State organization from 1978-1980. But her love was on the farm with her family where she loved to cook, garden and help raise her grandchildren. Her cookie jar was always full. She and Alfred loved to travel, enjoying many trips with Farm Bureau and Shrine friends. They traveled throughout United States, the Southern Caribbean Islands and on several cruises. Olive was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Nana to 4 Children, 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, all who loved and will miss her dearly. She is survived by her children E. Lee Libby and wife Nancy of Wales; Sylvia Palmer and husband Jim of Auburn; Liana L Marston and husband Mike of Auburn and Linda Libby of Dresden. Her Grand and Great Grandchildren; Valachia Bell, husband Andy and children Ashley and Drew of Raymond; Belinda Carpenter, husband Steve and children Devon, Essence, Lindsay and KC of Snead Ferry, North Carolina; Ben Rodrick and wife Caroline of S. Portland; Eric Palmer, wife Amanda and son Cameron of Oxford and Thomas Libby of Greene.
