Auburn - Helen L. Bouchard, age 86, a resident of 20 Great Falls Plaza, passed away peacefully Saturday morning March 5th at The Hospice House with family at her side. She was born in Caribou, Maine September 13, 1924 a daughter of George and Olive N. (McNeal) Goan. Helen was educated in Caribou schools and spent her adult years living in Milford, Maine, Scarborough, Maine and most recently, for the past year, in Auburn. She was married to Bing Bouchard who predeceased her. Helen worked as a homemaker during her married years and along with Bing, enjoyed fishing, picking fiddleheads and playing cards with friends. She also enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with all her grandchildren. Helen had a terrific sense of humor and absolutely loved meeting new people. When she moved to Great Falls Plaza in Auburn just over a year ago, she quickly met some new and wonderful friends and became involved in card making, knock-bingo and cooking delicious desserts for everyone. She was a loving, devoted, giving and hard-working wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. She leaves her daughter Nancy Bailey-Morrow and her husband Dan of Auburn; her sons Terry Goan and his wife Hedy of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Bill Bailey and his wife Carol of Scarborough, Clare Bailey and his wife Brenda of Rome, GA, and Craig Bailey and his wife Tammy of Clearwater, FL; her two step-sons Bernie Bouchard and David Bouchard, both of Greenville, ME;11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Kathleen Kingston of NH and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bing and three sisters and two brothers. The family wishes to thank all staff at Clover Manor, the nurses and physicians at CMMC and all staff of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and The Hospice House for their care, support, compassion and comfort care shown to Helen and her family.
