AUBURN - Donald R. Goulet, 66 of Lewiston died Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice after a period of failing health. He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 8, 1947 son of the late Antonio and Cecile Galarneau Goulet. Don was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1965. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of two purple hearts. He married Donna Nelson on Aug. 30, 1969. He began his career with the U.S. Customs and from 1982 until his retirement in 2002 was employed by the F.B.I. as a special agent. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing but most importantly time spent with his family. Don's greatest joy in life was his six grandchildren. Upon Don's retirement from the FBI, he aspired to write a book about his life and his experiences. Don realized his dream in 2008 when the book he authored entitled "Chesuncook" was published. He is survived by his wife Donna of Lewiston; two daughters, Karen Doiron and husband Chris of Beacon Falls, Conn. and Kristen Fluet and husband James of Gorham; a son, Keith Goulet and wife Hilary of Annapolis, Maryland; six grandchildren, Payton and Cassidy Doiron, Lauren and Will Goulet and Lydia and Emily Fluet; a sister, Monique Nadeau and husband Fern of Kennebunkport; a brother, Bertrand Goulet and wife Gloria of Sabattus. He will be greatly missed by his brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his Marine Corp brothers (Semper Fi), Law Enforcement Family and numerous friends. Visitation at Fortin/Auburn Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul (Upper Church). Committal with military honors to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
