He was born on June 23rd, 1940, a son to Joseph and Claire (Lapointe) Curran. He was educated in Auburn schools and served six years in the US Army. After returning home, he married Linda Steele in 1968.The pair had two beautiful daughters and later helped raise their granddaughter.
In his working years, Charles spent 30 years at General Electric (GE) and 12 years at L.L Bean. He loved sharing his bargains from the employee store.
At the young age of 10, he began making his own maple syrup and continued to do so well into his 70's. He loved woodworking and cutting firewood in the local woods, always wearing shorts - even in the winter!
Charles was predeceased by his parents, one sister, two brothers and a grandson Nicholas Bailey.
Charles is survived by his adoring wife Linda of 55 years, his daughter Pam Potvin and husband Mark, daughter Debra Bolduc and husband Jeff as well as his granddaughter Allison Bohn and husband Josiah and their four children Haddie, Aedan, Tauriel and Durin. He is also survived by his sister Louise Gary and husband Walter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Charles will take place on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 from 10AM to 12PM at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn followed by a Liturgy of the Word. Light refreshments will follow.
