Joyce Ann Bond, age 78, of Waterford, went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2021. Joyce is the loving mother of Kimberly (Daniel) Zernec and Melody (Kenneth) Klemmer; step-mother of David (Anita) Bond; dear grandmother to Dustin (Ashley) Zernec and Zachary (Hunter) Zernec; step grandmother to JohnDavid (Melinda) Bond and Melissa (Terry) Hollingsworth; beloved great grandmother of Mason Max Zernec; step great grandmother of Sarah and Drake Hollingsworth; dear sister of Richard (Jan) Munro. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil “Bob” Bond in 2016, son Lawrence Jones in 2011, and a brother Jerry Munro.
She was born on November 7, 1942 in Pontiac, daughter of the late Jack & Mary (Watson) Munro. She grew up in Auburn Heights and graduated from Avondale High School in 1960. Joyce was a graduate of Oakland Community College and had worked at Crittenton Hospital and later at Oakland Schools. She was a longtime member of Greater Harvest Church in Sylvan Lake. Joyce loved to cook and was especially known for her Peanut Butter Balls. In 1985 she took that love of cooking to new heights and began a catering service. Since retirement, Joyce dedicated most of her life to charitable works, especially volunteering at the Love Closet. More than anything, she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 11 am at Pixley Funeral Home 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills. Rev. Kevin Christmon officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 4 to 8 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until time of service.
The family would like to invite you to a luncheon celebration at Camp Ticonderoga, 5725 Rochester Rd., Troy, MI 48085 at 1 p.m. on Wed. after the service. Please R.S.V.P. on the Memory Sharing site if you will be attending. Thank you for all the support through this difficult time.
