John was born the son of Rollo and Ellen (Burhle) Hedrick in Detroit, Michigan on March 23, 1937. He graduated from Detroit Mackenzie High School, class of 1955 and served in the US Military. John married Debra DeSilvio in September 1990. John had a career as a police officer for Pontiac and later Farmington Hills.
John loved his wife and family most in life. He enjoyed reading everything, especially history and novels.
John is survived by his wife Debra; children Robert (Kim) Hedrick, Gregory Hedrick, Donna Fletcher, Karen Hedrick, Kenneth (Rebecca) Hedrick, and David Hedrick; grandchildren Jennifer, Nicole, Joel, John, Danny, Sara, Lynde, Gary, Danielle, and Alex; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
John’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 3530 Auburn Road in downtown Auburn Hills, Michigan.
