Susan Ann Reed

Susan Ann Reed was born June 10, 1960 in Auburn, California to Basilio and Rosalva Lopez of Loomis, California. She attended Penryn elementary and later would graduate from Del Oro High in 1977. Susan started working for the George Y. Murray Company when she was 16 years old. George and Darlys Murray were neighbors of the Lopez family and asked Rosalva if one of her 4 daughters could help them with bookwork and she quickly volunteered Susan, as she was the oldest. Howard E. Hutching purchased the company in 1978. He was happy to ask Susan to stay on permanently. Susan continued her education at Sierra College and became the bookkeeper of Howard E. Hutchings. She worked there for the next 35 years. In February of 1986, Susan Lopez married Warren Howard Reed from Del Paso Heights, California. Their marriage lasted for the next 29 years. She would often refer to Warren as Howard hence would cause confusion and laughter for several years in their household. Susan was predeceased in death by her grandparents, Onofre (Nino) and Emperatriz (Nina) Sanchez. Susan is survived by her husband Warren Howard Reed, parents Basilio and Rosalva Lopez of Loomis, California; twin sister Gloria Lopez of Loomis, California; sisters Elaine Cervates, Mary (Scott) Sheley of Orangevale, California; nephews Basilio and Alejandro Cervantes and a host of friends and other relatives. Family and friends are asked to attend her closed casket Visitation and Rosary at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6:00pm-7:00pm. Rosary will begin at 7:00pm.

The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1162 Lincoln Way, Auburn, California. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road, Newcastle, California.
