Ronald Ledesma, 72, left us on 06/09/2020 to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven. He passed due to complications of heart disease at Marshall Hospital in Placerville, CA. Ronald was born in August 1947 in San Jose, CA to Jess Joe and Jennie Ledesma. He graduated from Westmont High School in Campbell, CA. He attended West Valley and San Jose City College and received a degree in law enforcement. He joined the San Jose police force in 1974 and retired as a sergeant after 23 years of service. He then began a second career as a commercial wine grape grower in Lodi, CA for another 18 years. Ronald was active in the Lodi Winegrape Commission and was passionate about growing grapes for the various wineries in Lodi and other areas. He also was known to enjoy a glass or two of wine.
Ronald was happily married to Susan Ledesma who was his partner in life for almost 13 years. He was married to his previous wife, Rita Ciarriocco-Kloos for 23 years. They welcomed two sons together, Ronnie II and Armand Ledesma.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Ledesma, his son, Armand Ledesma, his two daughters-in-law, Flor Ledesma and Dena Strahan, his son-in-law Ben Strahan, his grandchildren, Joshua, Madisin and Kennedi. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Hernandez, Linda Shadowens, Mary Lou Martinez, Marie Garcia, Sharon Rodriquez, and Gina Reyes. He is survived by his brothers, Gary Ledesma, Donnie Ledesma, Jack Ledesma, and Lance Ledesma. He is also survived by his four brother-in-laws, six sisters-in-laws, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Ronnie Ledesma II, his sisters Virginia and Jackie Ledesma, his brothers Willie, Steve, and Butch Ledesma.
Ron was a man of faith, reading the Bible daily and attending church services weekly. He believed in the power of prayer. Ronald was a devoted father, beloved husband, brother, and uncle. He loved his ranch in Lodi and was an avid grape grower. Family was the most important thing in his life after God, he was born the seventh child in a family of fifteen children. He enjoyed family gatherings, birthdays, weddings, and graduations. Ronald loved to travel, making many trips to Mexico, Hawaii and his favorite, Las Vegas. Ron lived his life on his terms and was “cowboy strong” as he would say and was a strong man to the end. He was always there with a helping hand for his family. He will be deeply missed by family and friends and we know he continues to watch over his family from above.
