Leland was born in Roseville, California on October 8, 1935. After completing grammar school in the Sloat area, he was a proud participant in his high school's track and field, even being lettered in each four years. He earned numerous university degrees in accounting and business and later settled at Sierra College as an accounting professor.
Leland was proud in his faith, even giving sermons at Methodist Church in North San Juan. Along with his passion for the word of God, he also enjoyed oil painting and pencil drawings.
He is survived by his son, Lee, and his daughters, Selma and Sydne. The family and community will greatly miss him, but are at peace knowing Leland and Janet are together.
