Eleanor Cosby Anderson passed away on January 30, 2015 in Auburn, CA. She was born in San Francisco, California on February 3, 1923 but was raised in Auburn, California. She was the only child of her parents, Ted and Kathryn Cosby. Ellie met her future spouse at Placer High, class of 1939, Bud Anderson. When he returned from World War II, a decorated combat fighter pilot, they were married in Berkeley, CA on February 23, 1945. Ellie was a homemaker following her husband around the country and on overseas assignments. She was active in with the Officer’s Wives Clubs and later the Assistance League. They raised two children, James and Kathryn. In 1984 she and Bud retired and they moved back to Auburn. They kept busy traveling around the country and Europe attending aviation events and enjoying their children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ellie was best known for her caring and loving spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, C E Bud Anderson, her son James Anderson, grandsons John and Matthew, her daughter Kathryn (Bill) Burlington, granddaughters Jenny (John) Markham, Liz (Jake) Davis all of Raleigh, NC and 4 great grandchildren, Jack, Will, Ellie and Noah.
