Cal was born into a family of six children to Walter and Nadine Adamson on February 4, 1958 in American Fork, Utah. He spent his adult life in the automotive industry working for Ford dealers for 25+ years and later opening Adamson Auto and Diesel repair. Cal had a passion for helping others and passed his abundant knowledge of automotive knowledge to all that worked with him.
As a child Calvin’s family moved to Newcastle, California. He met his wife, Kitsi Adamson, in 1979 after being set up by mutual friends. They married February 9, 1980 in Auburn California surrounded by friends and family. In 1981 they welcomed their first child, Michael “Mike”, into the world. A year later in 1982 they welcomed Nicholas “Nick” followed by daughter Kristy in 1984. Over the years they spent time living in Utah and Alaska before moving back to California. Calvin worked hard everyday to be the absolute best father to all three of his children and they felt his love each day.
Calvin wore many titles: husband, dad, father in law, brother, son, friend, and perhaps his most well known title, papa. Cal was honored to be papa to granddaughters Kally and Hailey along with grandsons Colton, Clayton, and Weston. He never failed to cheer on each and every achievement that they made including all the small ones like making the best fart noise.
Along with Cal’s love of the automotive industry, he also had a love of technology especially in the form of decorating his house. Calvin and Kitsi’s home has become the talk of the community with their interactive LED lights show that Cal spent months working on stringing lights and picking the right song to make it perfect, which for him was never. He also found a love in woodworking making signs and any other trinkets for his grandchildren to enjoy.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Nadine.
He is survived by his wife, Kitsi Adamson; son Michael Adamson; son Nicholas Adamson and wife Erin and their sons Clayton and Weston; daughter Kristy Wetzstein and husband Matt and their children Kally, Hailey, and Colton- all residing in the Lincoln, CA area. Calvin will be missed by his father Walter Adamson; siblings Reed and wife Jana Adamson, Bonnie and husband Jerry Harris, Waldine and husband Doug Fallon, Lynnette Russel, and Walter and wife Becky Adamson. Calvin has numerous extended family members including nieces, nephews, and in-laws who will miss him dearly.
Calvin’s family will be holding a celebration of life April 2, 2023 at Lincoln Veterans memorial Hall from 2pm to 5pm.
