Shirley Gray Gilliard

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Gray Gilliard, age 62 of Jacksonville, will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with friends and family officiating. Burial will follow at Ten Island Church Cemetery in Ohatchee.

Mrs. Gilliard passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at RMC in Anniston. A lifelong resident of Alabama, she was a loving homemaker that did everything to make sure her family was taken care of. Mrs. Gilliard loved the Lord, and spending time reading her bible and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and tending to them. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, David Gilliard, her sons, Michael Chapman and Andy Lawson, her sisters, Doris Hill (Michael D.), Rita Jenkins, Kay Matherly (Jim) her brother, Alphie Gray, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hamlin Gray, Sr. and Dorothy Gray, her son, Adam Chapman, her sisters, Judy Smith and Phyllis Cleveland, and her brothers, Hamlin Gray, Jr. and Steve “Wink” Gray.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Chapman, Nathan Chapman, Tahj Taylor, David Hill, Wesley Dodd and Braxton Farmer.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
