Roy Clifford Stephen, age 87, passed away on Wednesday July 19, 2017. He was born in Etowah County.
Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Saturday July 22,2017 from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. with graveside burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m.
Roy finished high school at Marshall County High School. He graduated from Auburn University with the highest of honors in the class. He was a firm believer in education and generously contributed to help anyone in his family who wished to further their education. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korea War. He retired after 30 years of service from Tennessee Eastman in Kingsport Tennessee as a Chemical Engineer. He had many hobbies during his active years such as photography, building and flying model airplanes, ham radio operator, rifle competition, and bowling. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Lillie Stephens; brother, Donald Stephens; infant sister Carol Jo Stephens.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, brother; Farrell (Norma) Stephens; sister-in-law, Lydia Stephens; nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces, Pamela (Joey) Watson, Kristi (Patrick) Wise, Scott (Dana) Stephens, Donna Ellen (Herbie) Pence, Ryan Watson, Stephen Wise, Alyssa Ford, Ben Stephens, Mandy Marshall, Tyler Pence, and Lindsey Deal.
Special thanks to the staff of Regency Pointe, Gadsden Nursing Home, Alacare Hospice for their wonderful care.
Family and friends will be pallbearers.
