Michael Ray Bryant

Mike was born on March 11, 1949, in Asbury, Alabama to the late Rayburn and Roma Bryant. He had one sister, Teresa Kay Brooks. As a child he worked on the family farm in the garden and picking cotton. At age 16, his first job was working in the local theatre. Mike graduated from Asbury High School in July of 1967. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas. Mike decided to pursue a career in law enforcement after he was honorably discharged from the military. He became an Alabama State Trooper in 1970 and truly loved his job. After retiring in 1996, he went to work at the Etowah County Sheriff's Dept and later at Fitness Plus, where he met his wife, Linda Key. Once retired, Mike started working as a security guard at the Social Security Office in Gadsden, AL., and later at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Mike and Linda lived a happy life together and have traveled all over the United States. He loved Alabama football, oldies music, fishing, eating out and meeting monthly for lunch with his trooper friends. Mike loved the Lord, and even though he didn’t have a church that he called home, he accepted the Lord as his savior, he spoke with Him daily and always kept his faith. He leaves behind his family and friends, all who loved him dearly and will miss his sweet smile and personality.

Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, Alabama will hold a public viewing from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery, Attalla, AL with Chaplain Matt Rose officiating.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to extend special thanks to ACG Hospice Staff for all their compassion, care, love and respect they showed Mike as they helped him through his journey home. They are truly God's helpers, and we were blessed to have them. A special thank you to all family members that helped to care for and watch over Mike during his battle.
