Marion Henry Moody born June 23, 1933 graduated from Altoona High School in 1951. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He worked at Allis Chalmeres on the Model G Tractor Line. Marion entered the United States Army in 1953. He served in Korea. In 1955, he went to work at Republic Steel and was Supervisor in General Labor, Mobil Equipment and Tractor Repair. He retired in 1998 after 43 years of service. Marion was an Alabama Football, Atlanta Braves and NASCAR racing fan.
Funeral Service will be at 2p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 2pm. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Grace Moody; mother and father in law, Audie and Jay Alexander and brother in law, Sam Willoughby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Moody; sons, Jeffery (Patricia) Moody, Craig (Joyce) Moody; grandsons, Jeremy Moody (Laina Simmons), and Josh Moody; granddaughter, Leslie (Dave) Finch; great grandchildren, Tyler (Jordan) Moody; Hunter (TaMia) Moody, Emma Grace Finch, Kade Finch, Eli Williams and Zeke Williams; great great grandsons, Henry Moody, Avery Moody and Drew Moody; sister and brother in law, Glenda and Frank Bynum; niece, Kathy (Roger) Loggins, nephews, Dan (Lori) Bynam; grand nieces and nephews; brother in law, Danny (Sharon) Alexander.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Moody, Josh Moody, Dave Finch, Tyler Moody, Hunter Moody, Kade Finch, Dan Bynum and Roger Loggins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Emma Grace Finch and John Bryant.
