Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 12 pm until the time of service at 2pm. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Reverend Richard Bradfield, Reverend Mel Johnson, and Reverend Dru Strickland will officiate.
Louis was a 1961 graduate of Etowah High School. He served in the United States Air Force, and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, after 36 years of service.

Louis is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Burke Bowlin; son, Tim (Tina) Bowlin; daughters, Sherry Bowlin, and Susan (Chip) Battles; grandchildren, Joshua(Michelle) Battles, Dakota (Allister) Hoffman, Allison ( Austyn) Grimes, Alix Brothers, Chloe Bowlin, and Sydney Bowlin; great-grandchildren, Jacob Battles, Aiden Grimes, Brayden Grimes, Lilah Battles, Parker Grimes, Grayson and Waylen Works; aunts, Eloise Lee, Betty Scott and Tressa Morgan; uncle, Bobby (Loretta) Morgan; sisters-in-law, Joan Bolton (Robert) Eubanks, Nan Nelson, Gwen (Mel) Johnson, Anita Burke, and the late Melba Graham; brother-in-law, Roy (Dani) Burke; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bowlin, Chip Battles, Josh Battles, Jacob Battles, Austyn Grimes, and Dakota Hoffman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Harrison, Larry Foster, Travis Atkins, and the Men’s Sunday school class at Stowers Hill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stowers Hill Baptist Church, 407 9th Avenue Southwest, Attalla, Alabama, 35954.
