Rev. Jimmy Bailey went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Rev. Bailey was born on April 24, 1933 and is a native of Trion, Georgia. He served his country four years in the U.S. Navy. He pastored in Evansville, Tennessee, Summerville, Georgia, and then was led to Reed Memorial Baptist Church in Attalla a little over 57 years ago. He ran revivals all over the country but always came back to preach at his church on Sunday. He had a weekly broadcast shortly after his arrival in Attalla in which the length of the broadcast is an Alabama record. He had such a love for God, has loved being a Pastor and loved people. On Father’s Day of this year he announced his retirement due to health reasons. July 14, 2024, was to be the last sermon as full-time pastor at the church, but God had other plans.
He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Joyce Ann Bailey; parents, Roy and Leatha Bailey; and his in-laws, Rev. Buddy and Mrs. Helen Brown.
Rev. Bailey was survived by his children, Karen (Scott) Greene, Jeff (Michele) Bailey, and Darren (Velisa) Bailey; grandchildren, Jeremy Greene, Michael (Bailey) Bailey, Mikayla (Adam) Cox, Makenzie Bailey, Dylan Bailey, Caleb Bailey, and Katlyn (Ty) Copeland; great-grandchild, Abby Bailey (mother, Christina Bailey); brother-in-law, Rev.
