She met and married her sweetheart of 65 years on June 9, 1945. She spent most of her life in Gadsden, AL with the exception of a year in Lehi, Utah when they were first married; and a year spent in Mt. Shasta, California where she and her husband served a full time proselytizing mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She has served others her entire life. She served in the community as part of the Oak Park Elementary School PTA and a neighborhood representative of the American Heart Association. Most of her time she spent as a wife and mother. She also served in many calling in the church - Relief Society President,
Primary President, Young Women President, Institute and Seminary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Ward Librarian, Bulletin and Newsletter Editor and six years as an ordinance worker in the Birmingham, Alabama Temple. In her later years most of her service was doing indexing on the Family Search website. She indexed or reviewed almost 100,000 names!
She lived a long and full life here on this earth. We can only imagine the joy of those who had gone before her as she passed through the veil to be greeted by her loved ones. We will miss her.
