As a young woman she held many positions, some of which were Retail Window Dresser, Retail Clerk and Secretary of an insurance company as well as assisting her father in his General Store. She married George P. Gray, Jr on April 17, 1949. Together they had a family of four daughters and one son. She was a creative seamstress, an avid gardener and exceled in providing delightful meals for her beloved family. After moving to Rainbow City, she and her husband developed Covered Bridge Estates which she referred to as “God’s Little Eden” and where she continued to live out her days. She enjoyed traveling overseas with her husband and later continued her adventures with her children. She was an adoring grandmother to her nine grandchildren. She was their “Connie” and “Mimma” as well as playmate and teacher. Connie was never shy about her love for her Lord and Savior. Her life was a testament to her faith.
