She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1947. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She married Clarence "Bud" Smith on June 15, 1968.
She had a passion for antiques and loved spending time with family and friends. Beautiful on the inside and out, she actively served in church and led many Bible studies before being incapacitated by Parkinson's disease. Her quiet confidence and deep Christian faith only grew stronger as her illness progressed.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bud Smith; her sons C.E. and Tyler Smith; her grandchildren, Hampton and Thomas Smith, and Caroline, Walker, and Hannah Smith; and her sister Suzanne Johnson.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 17, at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.
