Born October 20, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Roger was a kind, gentle man. Like his Dad, who passed away 2 years ago to the very day, Roger set the gold standard for genuine niceness. He was soft spoken and deliberate, always ready with words of encouragement and inspiration if one needed help navigating a dark moment.
He was passionate too. Whatever captured his interest, he dove into wholeheartedly. Foremost among his interests of late were Bikram Yoga, Mediterranean food (MOST any food), and always and forever, Kentucky Wildcat basketball.
Fitness and perfect health were top priority for Roger. He worked as a physical therapist in Atlanta for the last five years, and in central Florida before that. He came to this profession later in his life, and his patients and colleagues were inspired by his compassion, professionalism and dedication to his work. It was a perfect fit for him.
He was intensely spiritual, and often communicated his conviction that no matter the outcome of his illness, he'd be at peace either way. His confidence and his commitment to his faith give us peace now.
He is survived by his Mom, Sharon Roberson, of Lexington, Kentucky, his sister and brother-in-law, Christie and Paul Ehrlich of Atlanta, GA , Eric Rice, who was like a brother to Roger, also of Atlanta, and many dear friends.
The service will take place on Sunday, December 20 at 3 o'clock H. M. Patterson & Son, Spring Hill on Spring Street in Atlanta, Georgia. The visitation is from 1 until 3 o'clock.
A second service will follow in Lexington, Kentucky at Kerr Brothers funeral home on East Main. Visitation is Wednesday, December 23 from noon to 2 o'clock. The service will follow at 2 o'clock.
