It is with great sorrow, that the Francis family announces the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Michelle Francis. Michelle, 58, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on March 20th, after a nearly 9 year battle with kidney cancer.
Michelle was born on November 26th, 1964 to Bill and Patricia Morris in Binghamton, NY. After Michelle graduated from Naples High School in 1982, she went on to study Mathematics at Emory and completed a Master’s in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
After graduating from Georgia Tech, she started her career in Computer Science at IBM in East Fishkill, NY where she met her husband Tim. Michelle and Tim, quickly fell in love and re-located to Atlanta, GA where they were married and went on to have three children, Ryan, Sara, and Matthew.
After the births of her children, Michelle exited the corporate world and pursued a career in real estate. She quickly established herself as a go-to agent with a reputation of high integrity and passion for helping her clients find their dream home.
Michelle loved playing tennis and card games. On the tennis court, she was a strong-willed competitor with a backhand that took most off-guard. When it came to playing cards, she was a serial winner who always had the ability to see a few moves ahead of everyone else.
Michelle was a fighter. After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2014, she defied the odds and was able to watch all of her children graduate college, celebrate her two oldest children getting married, and become a grandmother to her granddaughter Lucy.
Michelle loved her family and friends very dearly and was equally loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, positivity, and strength.
Michelle was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Morris. She is survived by her husband Tim, father Bill, brother Mike, children Ryan, Sara, and Matthew, children in law Jessie Kate and Zachary, and her granddaughter Lucy.
A viewing will be held at H.M Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Hill Chapel on Sunday March 26th, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Monday, March 27th at 10am.
