Armando had fought a tough battle versus multiple myeloma cancer for nearly a decade. He truly beat the odds - living about three times longer than is typical for victims of the disease.
Armando was a native of Bogota, Colombia, and had lived in the United States for the past 50 years.
He first brought his family to Queens, NY and moved to Atlanta in 1976.
He was a successful electrical engineer and retired twice – once from Raytheon and later from the Southern Company.
He and his wife Ligia raised two beautiful daughters and saw five grandchildren come into the world – four boys and one girl.
After Ligia passed away several years ago, Armando was wed to his second wife, Lupe Casanova, also of Sandy Springs, Ga. Armando and Lupe spent the last several years happily together, visiting their children and grandchildren, dancing at the Cuban club and traveling the world.
Armando was constantly surrounded by people who loved him dearly and respected him deeply.
