A native of Bibb County, Mr. Rankin was a son of the late Thomas Walter Rankin Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Davis Rankin. Mr. Rankin started his career with C&S Bank then became president and CEO of the Bank of Carroll County, Etowah Bank and the Bank of Albertville in Albertville, AL. He served as treasurer of the Georgia Bankers Association and Commission Chairman of the American Bankers Association in Washington, DC.
Survivors include wife, Maxine Rankin; daughters, Renee’ Rankin Jones and husband, Dean, LeAnn Rankin Jellinek and husband, Dan, and Terri Rankin Maske and husband, Craig; grandchildren, Jason Jones and wife, Laura, Joshua Jones, Lillie Maske and Cal Maske; sister, Beth Rankin Rivers.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service.
