Ms. Marilyn D. Grant entered into rest Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Peachtree Christian Hospice House in Duluth, GA. Memorial service will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 am at Gardner Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Rufus Copeland officiating.
Marilyn graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in 1978 and immediately started a certification program at Augusta Area Technical School. After completion of certification Marilyn was employed at the Medical College of Georgia’s Robert B. Greenblatt M.D. Library. She later relocated to Atlanta, GA where she was employed at Morehouse School of Medicine Library. Her career at Nordson Corporation, Duluth, GA was indeed the highlight of her employment. It included support and assistance to team leads for timely delivery of technology solutions to help customers succeed.
Marilyn was a picture of grace and love until the very end. Her sense of humor kept her family, friends and medical staff laughing even during the most difficult times. A true warrior, Marilyn fought a brave and courageous fight; she always believed she would be completely healed.
Survivors include her brothers, Alvin Wigfall, Augusta; Melvin (Jackie) Grant, Bogart, GA; sisters, Cassandra (Larry) Franklin, Yorktown, VA; Yolanda (Patrick) Barnwell, Woodbridge, VA; devoted friend, Patricia (Terry) Webb-Hudson; uncles, Rev. Samuel (Louise) Grant, Vidette, GA; Augustus (Lena) Grant, Augusta, GA; aunt, Rebecca Bing Grant; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
