Linda was born in Hart County to the late Herman Basinger, Jr. and Lois Lancaster Basinger, graduated from Hart County High School and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia. Linda was active in her community serving in the Nancy Hart Garden Club and the Junior Service League of Hartwell. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Roswell and the Dunwoody Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Winfield Bell and sister, Marcia Basinger.
Linda is survived by her children, Elliott Bell and his wife, Erika; Glenn Bell and his wife, Paige Payne; Leslie Sanford; and Lisa Bell; grandchildren, Kathleen Vollrath and her husband, Jim, and Natalie Sanford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in Athens.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
