Janice Elaine Shaw Williamson

Born in Jefferson, Mrs. Williamson was a daughter of the late Newt Shaw and Mae Etna Shaw. She retired after 30 years as a nurse at Heritage Nursing Home, loved working in her garden and keeping her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Williamson; brothers, Newt Shaw, Jack Shaw, David Shaw, Michael Shaw; and sister, Jean Bryant.

Survivors include children, Lynn Williamson and Andy Williamson (Amy); brother, Billy Shaw; sisters, Sandy Colquitt and Melissa Carithers (Mike); sister-in-law, Jeanette Jones; grandchildren, Brittany Hobbs (Nick), Allen Montgomery, Brandon Poteete (Hannah) and Erin Garlin (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Carlee Hobbs, Brenner Hobbs, Anderson Hobbs and Kacyn Garlin; and special dear friend, Evelyn Montgomery; several other close and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22 at 3 p.m. at the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Cloud officiating. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 150 Westpark Drive, Suite C, Athens, GA 30606.
