A native of Tulsa, OK, Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Leslie Alexander Johnston and Maxey Stephenson Johnston. A farm girl at heart, Mrs. Allen was a lover of horses and other animals and rescued many over the years. In the late 1950s, she was one of the first TWA stewardesses that was allowed to be married. She had an award-winning 50-year career in real estate where she was well-respected among her clients and peers. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time in Highlands, NC, with her second husband, the late Benjamin Heyward Allen.
Survivors include children, Elizabeth Moore (Earle) of Statham, Marny Midkiff (Richard) of St. Augustine, FL, John Stanier of Madison, WI and James William Stanier of Athens; sister, Anna Carol Nelson of La Jolla, CA; grandchildren, Tripp Moore, Mallory Moore, John Midkiff, Heather Midkiff, Keyton Stanier and John Patrick Stanier; and great-grandson, Mason Moore.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
