Born in Cocke County, Tennessee, Mr. Fox was the son of the late Boyd Fox and Bonnie Thomas Fox. Having spent his early years living in Tennessee, he was drafted to proudly serve his country in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. Later he moved to Ohio where he worked for General Motors, the United Auto Workers, and the AFL-CIO for 33 years. After retiring, he moved to Georgia and was active in his local community, his neighborhood and a member of American Legion Post 163 in Statham. He was an avid boater, fisherman, and hunter, loving to spending time with family and friends. As a member of the North Georgia Two-Cylinder club, he loved taking his Model “A” tractor to shows and parades throughout Georgia. He was a friend to all, and a stranger to none. Mr. Fox was the last survivor of his siblings to include six sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy Cook Fox; son, Carl D. Fox; two grandchildren, Rebekah C. Butcher (Leon) and Carl Logan Fox (Havilah); and two great-grandchildren, Elon Butcher and Eden Butcher.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the American Legion Post 163, 1633 Atlanta Hwy., SE, Statham, Georgia 30666. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the Fox family requests donations be made in Carl's honor to the American Legion Post 163, PO Box 438, Statham, Georgia 30666, Attn: Treasurer.
