Born August 29, 1958, in Jacksonville, FL, his family moved to Orlando on his 11th birthday. After graduating from Boone High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving for 3 years. Blair moved to Athens where he worked in various industries including Johnson & Johnson and Boehringer-Ingelheim. One of his proudest moments was graduating from the University of Georgia at the age of 50. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington.
He is survived by his mother, Mary McCloskey, Sun City Center, FL, his wife, Sally Pat Williams, Athens, his brother, Chris Weaver (Cynthia) Weaver, Lithia, FL, his sister, Fran Link, Madison, FL. His children, Virginia Weaver, Asheville, NC, his son, Michael Weaver, Athens, Sally Pat’s children, Beth (Ash) Prabhakar, and Winn Williams, all of Denver, CO. His grandchildren, James Lynn, Everleigh, Maddox, and Leanne Blair Weaver, Priya and Saaya Prabhakar and several nieces and nephews. Blair was preceded in death by his father, Bill Weaver.
Blair’s rescue dogs, Big and Bobby, were his constant companions often seen around Five Points on their frequent walks. He was an avid long-distance runner, and loved his alma mater, UGA. Blair will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature by all who knew him. His family extends a special thank you to Holly Brightwell, Lucy Marroquin, Elena Castro, and Jose Castro for their help during Blair’s illness.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Oconee Hill Cemetery with Rev. Neeley Rentz Lane officiating.
