She was born on September 13, 1932, to the late Riley F. Meadows and Lilly Merle Sandlin Meadows, in Limestone County where she was raised.
Mary Ann was a lifelong and active member of Eastside Church of Christ, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was also a lifelong supporter of American Heart Association, Athens Bible School, Athens High School (she was a class of 1950 Golden Eagle graduate), and the Susan Komen Breast Cancer program. Anyone that needed help, she was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She married Edward Wade Ball, Jr. (whom passed away in 2007), in Athens, and Mary Ann worked for the City of Athens until they started their family. They enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, and traveling.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Meadows (Pugg); and her two sisters, Eloise Meadows and Marlene Meadows Cary (Paul).
She is survived by her two children, Edward Wade Ball, III, of Thatch, AL, and Christa Bolton (Lance) of Athens, AL; her brother, Don “D.W.” Meadows (Jerry) of Green Valley, AZ; her sister-in-law, Thelma Ball of Matthews, NC; her four grandchildren: Brian Williams (Carrie), April Ball, Brandy Bolton, and Summer Todd, all of Athens, AL; seven great-grandchildren: Kayden, Jordin, Mackenzie, Levi, Brock, Braxton and Cora; her three god-children: Brent, Brad and Brittany Murrell; her six beloved nieces: Linda, Kim, Jan, Kelly, Kippy and Joy; her six nephews: Phil, Jim, Phillip, Steve, Greg and Gary.
Visitation will be at McConnell Funeral Home on Sunday November 26th, from 12-3pm. A chapel service will begin at 3pm and will be officiated by Bro. Steve Klein, Bro. Bill Murrell and her nephew, Davey Johnson. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Abernathy, Brad Murrell, Brent Murrell, Mat Todd, Lawson Johnson and Phillip Barron.
