She was born on August 23, 1939, to Charlie and Opal Kelley, and grew up in Limestone County.
Ms. Swanner was a 1957 graduate of Clements High School, a long time member of Mayfair Church of Christ, and was a retired Civil Servant at Redstone Arsenal.
She studied at Calhoun Community College where she obtained her Associates Degree. Painting was a favorite hobby of hers, and was once involved in The Red Hat Society.
Her family will be receiving friends at McConnell Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13th, from 10am until 12pm. A chapel service will begin at 12pm, and burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Swanner (Kathie); daughter, Pamela Smith (Ed); sisters, Charldean Terry (Bobby) and Kay Kelley; grandchildren: Allen Smith (Meghan), Elizabeth Smith, Zachary Swanner, Keana Kelly Swanner and Marissa Swanner; and great-granddaughter, Avery Smith.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and her sister, Peggy Hagood.
