Timothy (Tim) James Stewart of Rockglen, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2022 at the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Tim was born December 16th, 1957, in his home town of Rockglen, Saskatchewan. Here he worked alongside his dad on the family farm from an early age. He eventually took over the farm, which he transitioned to a formidable ranch. According to Tim, he never worked a day in his life because he was doing what he loved. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he was checking cows until his final days. From his occupation came a unique strength, which he would gladly demonstrate in an arm or leg wrestling competition if challenged.
Tim was married to Shannon (Wilson) Stewart, whom he won over with his charm on the dance floor, and they had three children: Dawn, Liam, and Shane. He also had two children from previous relationships: James and Ashley. Family and friends were very important to Tim. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren, showing pictures to anyone who was interested. He never missed an opportunity to gather and visit or check up on everyone in his morning phone calls.
You could always count on Tim to lend a neighbor a helping hand, especially when it pertained to anything mechanical. His exceptional mechanical skills and sharp mind allowed him to fix almost anything and come up with some unique contraptions, including a one-man fencing machine. Tim made friends wherever he went. He always made sure to ask anyone he met what their last name was, so he could figure out how he knew their family. His unique and mischievous sense of humor will be especially missed.
Tim is survived by his wife Shannon Stewart, his children; James Headrick, Ashley (CJ) Kemmis, Liam Stewart, Dawn Stewart, and Shane Stewart, his four grandchildren; Camryn Kemmis, Harrison Kemmis, Weston Headrick, and Kye Headrick, and eight sisters; Beth (Rodney) Punga, Joan (Ron – deceased) McKenzie, LaRene Walentschek, Gail (Tom) Prpick, Denise Stewart, Tammy (Bernard) Joyal, Donna Stewart (Shane Weeks), and Bo Ruzicka. He was predeceased by his father William (Billy) Stewart, mother Donna Stewart, brother-in-law Ron McKenzie, and nephew Zeke Marit.
A Celebration of Tim’s Life (or an Irish wake as Tim would call it) was held on April 16th, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the Rockglen Community Hall. Memorial donations can be made to the Rockglen Community Rink at Box 328, Rockglen, SK SOH 3R0.
