Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who had many friends and extended family. Charles had a long career at the U.S. Post Office where he made many lifelong friends. Given the opportunity to retire early he used his spare time to volunteer at St. Mary’s hospital, actively participate in the Hanover Ruritan club, and to improve his golf game at The Hanover Country Club. Charles was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and served many years on the vestry.
A private graveside service will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal church. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In his memory Charles requested to have contributions made to the American Heart Association, your local SPCA, or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church P.O. Box 441, Hanover VA. 23069.
The family would like to express a special thank you to his caregivers at Heritage Green Assisted Living & Memory Care and At Home Hospice for the kindness and care they provided.
