My heart has been forever blessed by the friendship I was able to share with Richard over the last year.  My dear friend, Andrea, told me about this "really nice man" she'd met at the chiropractor and befriended.  I am so happy she was inspired by God to share with me the joy of also becoming a friend to Richard & Flo. He and his wife had been in separate assisted living and missed each other desperately.  It was such a joy to see them together again, especially when they were able to actually share the same room and have beds next to each other so they could simply hold each other's hands.  Richard was such a gentle  soul...a real "gentleman"...witty, caring,  and true. He made me feel like I was a friend he had known for ages. He loved to tell treasured stories about his family and his travels, and had a sweet sense of humor.... we laughed alot at each other's corny jokes!
He absolutely adored his wife Florine, and always expressed how blessed he was to have such a great love in his life! 
Their love was truly a marvel to behold; precious, rare, and inspiring to all. They often read scripture and prayed together.  
Richard loved God and understood that we are eternal....that we are all just souls here having a human experience.
Several days before he departed he told me he heard the Father calling. 
I held his hand, smiled through my tears and wished him a beautiful journey home.
Life is everything, everywhere,  all at once. 
Richard, never forget how much you are LOVED.  Thank you for being my friend and being such a light to this world.

Richard was one of a kind, truly. I wish I had more photos to share, but they're on an old phone that didn't get transferred over sadly. But I have this one. 

I met Richard at our chiropractor a couple of years ago. He offered to read a book to one of my children. He seemed eccentric, in a charming way. We began to chat to him often when our paths crossed. 

Richard's wife Flo was in a nursing home at this time and he desperately missed her. She was the great love of his life, he made sure we knew that! He would sometimes come for dinner with us after the chiro, and a few times we were at his house. He had such a generous spirit. He adored children and always wanted to gift them things and just love on them! 

The picture was taken on Christmas day 2021. He joined us for a typical British Christmas dinner, prior to going to the Pfleegors house, and I'm pretty sure he had the time of his life. 

Richard always had some knowledge about pretty much any topic you could imagine. You could have knocked me over with a feather when he told me he had been to The Farm back in the day! I've never met anyone who had such a broad range of experience and knowledge. 

Richard often shared his faith with me (and I with him!) And I sincerely hope and pray that when I get to glory his smiling face will be there to greet me. 

Getting to know Richard was a blessing for me and my family. We met him about 18 months ago. While he had a quiet,  gentle spirit, he also possessed a gift for gab. He was such an interesting fellow and had many hobbies throughout his life from aquaponics to beekeeping and decorating birthday cakes. He enjoyed reading Amish novels, learning about Earth ship homes and all things self reliant living. One of his most recent interests was learning about alternative fuel.  He loved the Lord and never tired of holding his wife, Florine's hand.  My friendship with  Richard was unexpected. I will miss him dearly. 

Richard would involve our kids in conversations and try to teach them truth and good character from his experiences. He was a blessing to our family! We will greatly miss him!

He loved finding things we could use, especially books, and letting our kids read his and Florine's books (especially Amish books)! He was very generous and thoughtful! 

We had so many laughs and great memories together, even in the final weeks of his life...

Our 7 children, my husband and I looked forward to visiting Richard often. We met him about 2 years ago. He was very friendly and warm to all  he met!  He was a great encourager and friend! We are thankful for the time we had with him! 

Richard loved the Lord and we were able to point each other to trusting God even in the struggles --knowing God is good and faithful!
